However it is quite easy to game the 'average national IQ' metric by simply exclude those on the lower tail of the IQ distribution. It is harder to game the average IQ of the smart fraction in common international setting.
For example, Brazil pumped in large amount of money to attract the Taiwanese Foxconn to set up factory locally to manufacture iPhone but the factory closed down when the subsidy end. Brazil just does not have enough of the relevant productive and skilled workers. On the other hand Vietnam has no problem supporting the Korean Samsung mobile phone factories. A look at the average national IQ dataset can predict the potential outcomes. Foxconn is happy to comply when the subsidy is there. Glad to see that NOR and DNK relatively improved their scores by about 15% pulling further away from NGA. Not so for Switzerland which performed slightly worse that NGA. The performance of USA seems to have dropped 20% even when the 4 USA competitors are still of Asian ancestries. SWE was AWOL for IChO 2020.
